If you, by misstake, should press down and hold the "Magic"-key on the remote control, you could re-program your remote control which is NOT fun!
So, if your IceLed-UFO should stop "listening" to your remote control, here's what you should do:
1. Press and hold the "Magic"-button until you see the power button blink, first one time - pause - then two times.
2. Press the minus "-"-button three times.
3. Press the minus button, and then the power button
4. Repeat step three (up to 150 times) until the IceLed-UFO reacts to the power button. Then press the "Magic"-button once.
5. Now you're up and running again!
Thanks!

Thanks Mikael - but there is a much easier way. The procedure you've given makes the remote search through all the codes. Instead, you can enter the correct code directly. Here is the best way to do it...

Yes, you're right!
That is a better way.
I did'nt know the codes, and that is why I posted the help posted earlier.
Would it be possible to let the user/customer know of this problem in the user manual? It would make it easier for the customer, as well as for resellers.

| Yes, sorry - it's only been a problem once or twice - but that's enough already! The sheet above is to go in the next release of the user guide. |

That sounds great!
There is also another reason to why reprogramming the remote control your way is better. When using the search method, the IceLed-UFO seems to react to more than one program. The only thing is that the other programs only work with some functions.
Am I right?

Yes, the 'code scan' feature goes through some similar, but not identical variations.

I'm currently having some problems with a remote that I have lying around here. The "shortcut" reprogramming as per manual doesn't seem to work. Might give the elaborate way a go. _________________ Duct Tape is like the Force....It has a Light Side and a Dark Side.....and it binds the Universe Together......

Tried both ways with a fresh set of batteries in the remote. No results . Any other suggestions or is the remote probably knackered? (It was a brand new one.... _________________ Duct Tape is like the Force....It has a Light Side and a Dark Side.....and it binds the Universe Together......

winger, can you test the remote by setting it to a TV you own?
IceledOz, what model number is your Marantz? If you set it to operate Philips TV's it should work! |

Tried it on my tv (it's a Philips), nothing happens. Took the batteries out for a while, put 'em back in, set the code again as per manual, still nothing.
Í did notice that, when UFO is activated through the door connection (program 0), pressing the power button on the remote makes UFO's display blink. It doesn't switch on/off though. (But something IS being sent/transmitted/received.)
Took out my trusty old remote next for a test. UFO is responding to it exactly as expected.
Hmmm... Switching my remote with a friend, trying to help him out wasn't too bright of an idea (pun intended). He just installed his ZEN for the first time, only to find out his remote didn't work. (I figured it was somehow reprogrammed. Should have been an easy fix.) _________________ Duct Tape is like the Force....It has a Light Side and a Dark Side.....and it binds the Universe Together......

Right, I just recieved the remote display, minus remote. I used a standard universal remote to test it out, and it worked well. Now I am trying to make use of one of my old Palm PDA's to set it up as the remote. Problem is that the codebase supplied for the Philips TV doesn't do anything. I'm able to enter the commands in as Hex codes, so my question is, is there any way to get the hex codes for the commands?
I'm using Novii Remote Deluxe for Palm and once I get the code done and working, I'll post it for anyone else who wants to do the same thhing.
***Edit
I've found the manual and model number for the remote that used to be sold on Oznium as the replacement if anyone is looking for it.
