By using equal numbers of red, green and blue Light Emitting Diodes in each of our digital light sources they are all capable of producing virtually any colour imaginable. Just switching the diodes on or off in all possible combinations would result in the seven basic colours shown here. However we go even further and control the intensity of each diode so finely that 2,097,152 different colour combinations are available. Apart from the incredible amount of choice that this provides, dramatic lighting effects also become possible with smooth transitions from one colour to another. It is only with such fine control that the hallmark ICELED effects can be generated. |
In
addition to the colour of the light produced, each different light
source has it's own characteristic beam pattern. For example, on
the left of the photo below, ICELED Spot produces a narrow beam suitable
for spotlighting interior features at a distance. In the middle ICELED
Gem produces a wider beam more suited to overall illumination at closer
range. On the right a one-foot ICELED Tube creates a 'wash' of light to
illuminate an even wider area. |

| When it comes to location, several different products are available for exterior or interior applications. ICELED Spot is designed to be used solely for internal lighting. The external LED tubes of ICELED UFO are designed for the harsh environment underneath the vehicle although they may be used inside as well. ICELED Gem is available in two formats - interior and exterior. The interior version can be fitted directly into many existing light fixtures while the exterior version can be mounted under wheel-arches or in other exposed locations. | |
The digital
technology used in each ICELED device also allows all our light sources
to communicate with each other via a single wire connection. This opens
up limitless possibilities when it comes to controlling the overall
display. For example in the diagram below, the UFO underbody lighting
kit is also linked to a pair of ICELED Spots, GEMs and one-foot tubes. |

With this
arrangement the lighting inside the car can be set to automatically
harmonise with the patterns generated outside when UFO is switched on.
At other times, ICELED Spot will control the other internal lighting
using it's own range of functions. For the capabilities of each
