Hi guys, it's been so long I've had to make a new account I have an old ufo kit from about 2006. It has one of the small remotec remotes I purchased as a replacement back in the day.
It turns the kit on and all the functions seem sweet....apart from the colour range which is now stuck in C2. I've tried every combination I can to move back up the range but it only seems to work cycling down to 2 on any pattern.

I've tried reprogramming the remote just in case it had gotten confused while being out of use for a good 5 years. But the codes I could find here (0101, 0172) neither get accepted. But it still controls everything.

Basically how can I get the colour range back up to unlimited

Help me resurrect a relic

Hi, when you say neither code get accepted - what do you mean? Press and hold the setup button until the red LED comes on, tap in 0101 - the first three presses make the red LED blink off and back on. On pressing the last digit the LED should go straight out. If it flashes twice that means the code is wrong. IIRC the Vcr button can't be set with the 0101 code. Use any of the other devices instead.

Thanks for getting back to me dude.
Weirdly it's just accepted the code, even though that's what I've been doing haha. Oh well.

My issue of colour range still remains though. Is there any way of resetting to unlimited or what's the button sequence to use as I started with '2' which brings up the colour range, but the only thing that seems to work is repeatedly pressing '2' which just cycles downwards. The volume buttons don't work as the user manual says, but that is for the original iceled remote.

What version UFO do you have? It's the number that comes up in the display when 12V is connected... U 5 would mean version 5 for example.

ummm as far as I'm aware I've never seen it display anything proceeded by U when connected to power. Just the the standby/mute dot and then the door open program clicks in.
But I will check when I get to it in the morning.

The user manual is v2

Ah, the remote code 0101 you are using is for a later version of UFO. The original One-for-all handset had fewer buttons and a MAGIC key that shifted to the colour range setting.

The handset you're using might be able to generate those signals - no guarantees but one of these codes might just do it:

2551 2561 2571
2621 2631 2651
2741 2751 2761 2781 2791
2801 2811
3601
3891
3931

Hopefully one or more of those codes gives you all the functions, but it might be that you have to use one code to get the colour range and another to turn on and off etc. Trial and error I'm afraid!

#-o still not playing. Oh well. It may have to get retired.
Thanks for your help Adrian.

One last question. Will the updated ufo box available work with the exp I have (which I assume is also v2) and the tubes I have which are from the same version era ?
