Hi people,
I've been looking round for other modified car forums to try help spread the ICELED message but I can't seem to find any busy car forums anymore. Do you think the modified car scene is dying or has died?

I've noticed that it goes in big waves. When I first started driving, imaginatively painted Custom Cars were literally everywhere. I've seen several cycles since but people seem to re-invent the way they modify cars each time. Tech-enabled is my guess at the next new wave :D

I would really love to meet up with other ICELED owners but it seems most live miles away lol. It would be cool if we could organise an event

Exactly what Adrian says, it's changing.

I'm still on a few modified forums, but now having had 2 kids my priorities have changed and so has my taste in cars.

I've seen several OEM+ vehicles recently, look great, street sleeper style but not in ya face.

The tech enabled, yes definately the way things are going, it's all connectivity and mobile data, just look at mirrorlink headunits, wifi enabled tablets used as interactive car PC substitutes, all about "Freeway Facebook" and "Apps on the Autobahn"

People just don't have the money to throw at their cars anymore either. Could not do today what I did to my car a few years ago.

I agree with most of the comments posted - I personally have less spare time, working more hours and just bought my first house. But I am planning on putting ICELED in and around the house :D

I have recently sold my Astra which had an interior and exterior install and bought a Mitsubishi GTO from a friend at a bargain price! I have this while I await delivery of my new Skoda Octavia vRS

I do miss the meets and people I met when I discovered ICELED but as people have said I think priorities change and lack of disposable cash has played a massive role - but I can guarantee that in time (months/years) this will change and there will be a surge in modifying vehicles again. I just seem to spend all my time working or DIY'ing - good job I don't have any children yet!

Maybe we could look at arranging a meet (with or without cars) and all have a catch up in the near future? :)

Check out the post/flyer I had added in the cruise/meets section. The Modified nationals is one of the few events now that actually has a dedicated lighting display in the evening. I have been trying to generate some interest in this to keep it going. If there are just 8 cars willing to show in the evening then it will go ahead. It is not a competition just a rare chance to exhibit you pride and joy regardless of how many (or few) lighting effects you have got.
